Tactical training of Serbian Armed Forces mechanized units
Mechanized units of the Army are undergoing an intensive training cycle to prepare for the execution of combat actions in SAF’s defensive operations. The purpose of the training is to maintain and improve the unit members’ skill in using critical weapons in combat and carrying out tactical operations on the battlefield, which ensures high combat readiness and successful execution of specific tasks in operations conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces.
According to the training programme, infantry fighting vehicle crews and mounted squads are training together to carry out tactical and fire mission procedures in all phases of operation. In the next phase, they will conduct firing practices at SAF’s specialized ranges, followed by tactical exercises and live fire drills, where the members of mechanized battalions will demonstrate their tactical and firearms skills. Training in mechanized battalions, which, together with tank units, are the main manoeuvring force in SAF operations, is carried out throughout the year in all conditions. These units are used for a rapid deployment of infantry to combat, fire support and force protection, which makes their role important in operations on land.
