Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces launch competition for student scholarships



The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have launched a competition for the award of 67 student scholarships for the academic year 2025/2026. Eligible candidates are students attending four-year high schools providing vocational training in electrical or traffic and transport engineering, medical high schools and the Aviation Academy.
Boys and girls who are in their third or fourth year at high schools founded by the Republic of Serbia, an autonomous province or a local self-government are eligible to apply. It is important to note that students whose GPA is at least 4 (very good) on a five-point grading scale, and 5 (excellent) on the behaviour grading scale each school year will be offered financial support amounting to RSD 25,000-35,000 per month during their schooling.

The Serbian Armed Forces are offering scholarships to fourth-year students of electrical engineering high schools attending one of the following programmes: computer or IT technician, mechatronics technician, telecommunications technician, electronics technician and electrical technician. Scholarships are also offered to fourth-year students of the Aviation Academy, attending one of the following programmes: aircraft engine technician and aviation electronics technician.  Students in the second, third and fourth years of traffic and transport engineering secondary schools, attending the road traffic technician programme, can also apply for the scholarship.

Upon graduation, the scholarship awardees will undergo appropriate weapons training, after which they will be admitted to professional military service as non-commissioned officers and assigned to their respective duty stations in Belgrade, Batajnica, Zuce, Jakovo, Lađevci, Pančevo or Kraljevo.
The Military Health Department of the Ministry of Defence is offering scholarships to the second, third and fourth-year students of medical schools, attending the medical technician programme (general programme). Upon graduation, the scholarship awardees will undergo nursing apprenticeship and take state qualifying exam, after which they will be given permanent employment as civilians in Belgrade.

Deadline for applications is September 30, 2025.
