After his tour of the hangar, Minister Gašić emphasized the importance of this infrastructure project for the Air Force.
- The construction of this modern hangar has significantly enhanced the Air Force and Air Defence’s aircraft housing and maintenance capabilities. It is also very important that better conditions for the storage and maintenance of spare parts, equipment and tools have been provided. This is an important step forward in improving military infrastructure, which contributes to the operational effectiveness of our units – emphasized Minister Gašić.

This is a state-of-the-art hangar, he added, that fully meets the requirements regarding the storage and maintenance of aircraft.

- This investment is another proof of the commitment of the state and the Ministry of Defence to systemic improvement, creation of better working and living conditions for the Serbian Armed Forces personnel, but also to strengthening the nation’s defence capabilities – emphasized the Minister of Defence.
During the tour, the Minister of Defence spoke with the final year Military Academy cadets pursuing Military Electronic Engineering and Military Mechanical Engineering, who are currently undergoing practical training on the work organization and methodology in aircraft maintenance units.

He was accompanied on the tour by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Mile Jelić.
The multipurpose hangar has an area of approximately 2,900 square metres, it is 15 metres high, and has two crane runways with a 2000 kg capacity. The new hangar is divided into two main units – an area for the housing and maintenance of aircraft and the staff workspace.
