Members of National Guard Cyprus train in Republic of Serbia

For the third consecutive year, combat training involving 155 mm B-52 M-15 Nora self-propelled gun howitzers has been held in our country for members of the National Guard of Cyprus, in accordance with the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan with the Republic of Cyprus.
During the two-day training held at the Serbian Armed Forces’ training areas, Cypriot soldiers, under the supervision of instructors from the Mixed Artillery Brigade, acquired the necessary knowledge to utilize this weapon.

Final activities were carried out at the Pasuljanske Livade Training Area, where a joint battery was formed for the purposes of the training, consisting of a Serbian and a Cypriot platoon. The battery practised emplacement, reconnaissance, target acquisition and firing data calculation, and conducted preliminary and live firing drills according to the set criteria and standards.
The training also involved final-year Military Academy cadets who are training to become artillery officers.

The results achieved, primarily the soldiers’ firing scores, confirm that the training was well conducted and the training objective completely fulfilled.
Providing training to members of the National Guard of Cyprus, where the Serbian-made Nora self-propelled gun howitzers are in service, is one of numerous activities carried out as part of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Cyprus aimed at building mutual trust and strengthening military capabilities.
