New soldiers admitted for military service

New soldiers (June 2025 intake) have been admitted to the SAF basic training centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac to do voluntary military service.
Upon their arrival at the barracks, they went through mandatory check-ups, were issued weapons and equipment and were then assigned to units, where their superiors informed them about their rights, obligations and tasks during their military service.

Over the next month and a half, the soldiers assigned to the basic training centres will be trained to handle personal weapons, carry out basic combat tactics and procedures and perform guard duty, while simultaneously improving their physical fitness.
They will then embark on their individual specialized training for their future branch/service specific duties. Next, they will move on to the second part of their military service, which they will spend in SAF units, training to perform collective tasks and actively engaging in daily activities alongside the units’ professional members.

Soldiers can apply for professional military service while still doing their voluntary military service. They will then go through the standard admission procedure and become eligible to join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately after completing their military service.
