Serbian, Egyptian special forces conduct joint training

As part of the 2025 Serbia-Egypt Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan, members of the two countries’ special forces have conducted joint counter-terrorism training.
The purpose of the training, which was conducted at the Rastko Nemanjić Barracks in Pančevo and Orešac Training Area near Vršac, was to improve the special forces’ skills and exchange experiences in carrying out special operations in urban and rural environments.

The training involved combat teams from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the Egyptian El-Sa’ka Forces, and was supported by the Serbian Armed Forces helicopter units. During the two-week exercise, the trainees carried out a number of tactical and fire missions that are part of a counter-terrorism operation, including a helicopter landing, first aid and medical evacuation. The soldiers also practised scaling and fired modern weapons that are in service in the Serbian Armed Forces.
Similar training was carried out at a training area in Egypt last year. Activities like this are designed to improve interoperability and strengthen mutual trust, understanding and overall relations between Serbia and Egypt.
