Final exercise Spring 2025 conducted

The 11th class of the Medical Faculty, Military Medical Academy, and the 23rd class of the Medical Reserve Officer Course successfully conducted their final exercise, Spring 2025, at the Banjica Barracks in Belgrade today.
During the exercise, procedures for proving medical care and treatment to injured and ill soldiers in peacekeeping operations were demonstrated, with the aim of teaching future doctors and medical personnel how to respond to various situations.

As part of the exercise scenario, cadets and trainees gave practical demonstrations of how to carry out tasks in the field, including evacuation, transport and care of patients who have been injured or have suffered psychological trauma, as well as inpatient treatment, internal medicine and surgical treatment - including resuscitation, pharmaceutical support and food and water intake control.
The officer commanding the Spring 2025 exercise, Lt. Col. Ivica Đurić, says that this year's exercise is different from previous ones.

- This is the first time we have conducted an exercise based on a peacekeeping operation scenario. Previous end-of-the-year exercises were designed to teach trainees how to set up a brigade aid station, but this time we have decided to practise these procedures with cadets and trainees - said Lt. Col. Đurić.

Marija Aleksić, a final-year cadet at the MMA Medical Faculty, who played the role of hospital commander during the exercise, says that all participants have made their contribution during the exercise.

- I am honoured to have the opportunity, together with my colleagues, to put to work the knowledge I have acquired at the MMA Medical Faculty in this final exercise. The final exercise is a chance for us to combine our medical knowledge with the knowledge of medical tactics - emphasizes Cadet Aleksić.
Lance Corporal Mihajlo Draganjac, a reserve officer course candidate, says that the final exercise was very important for all the participants, because it provided them with an opportunity to practise responding to emergencies in real-world situations.

The exercise, which is the final step in the training of future medical officers before they assume their initial duties in the units and institutions of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, was attended by the Head of the Military Health Department, Brigadier General Dragan Dinčić, MD-PhD, Coordinator for Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Defence University, Brigadier General Radivoje Anđelković, and the Dean of the MMA Medical Faculty, Sonja Marjanović, MD-PhD.
