To the order of the Special Anti-Corruption Department of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Niš, authorized Military Police personnel, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, today arrested three people based on reasonable suspicion that they had repeatedly committed criminal offences of abuse of office under Article 359, paragraphs 1 and 3, and dereliction of duty under Article 361, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Serbia.
S. S. (1973), former Deputy Military Attorney and Head of the Military Attorney's Office, Niš Department, A. I. (1979), Assistant Attorney at the Military Attorney's Office, Niš Department, and D. M. (1962), former Assistant Attorney at the Military Attorney's Office, Niš Department, were arrested.
They are suspected of having acted, over an extended period of time, in court proceedings, as officials of the Military Attorney's Office, contrary to the regulations and against the interests of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, thereby obtaining benefits for individuals, while at the same time causing damage to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces amounting to more than RSD 28 million.
The aforementioned persons will be taken for questioning to the Special Anti-Corruption Department of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Niš.
