SAF members successful at helicopter exercise in Hungary

A multinational helicopter exercise, Fire Blade 2025, which involved members of the Serbian Armed Forces and military personnel from six other European countries, ended today at the Pápa Air Base in Hungary.
During the two-week exercise, members of the Serbian Armed Forces, who used two helicopters for the exercise - an H-145M and a Mi-17, practised the tactics and procedures in planning and executing joint multinational helicopter operations alongside their colleagues from Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland.

The exercise scenario included planning and carrying out flight missions involving navigation flight, helicopter airlift, landing troops and cargo, tasks that are part of helicopter operations in urban environments, combat search and rescue, direct support to ground forces, convoy escort and protection, as well as manoeuvres performed while under fire from enemy fighter aircraft and air-defence units.
Live firing at ground targets was also conducted. The aircrew of the Serbian H-145 helicopter fired unguided shells at targets located on the exercise ground achieving excellent results.

The host of the exercise was the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre, which was founded by 14 EU members and partner countries, including the Republic of Serbia. Participation in the work of the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre and its exercises helps SAF helicopter crews to improve their skills and interoperability, as well as their ability to engage in helicopter operations in the contemporary operational environment.
