Stanislav Binički Ensemble performs in Republic Square to mark Victory Day
The art ensemble of the Ministry of Defence "Stanislav Binički" gave a performance today in Belgrade’s Republic Square, as part of the Victory Day – May 9 celebrations.
In front of a big audience, Binički choir and orchestra performed the following compositions: “Tamo daleko”, “Oj Srbijo mila mati”, “Devojko mala”, “Splet partizanskih pesama”, as well as “Igrale se delije”, “Vidovdan” and “Dan pobede”. Songs such as “Katyusha”, “Beograde, Beograde” and “Ovo je Srbija” could be heard in Belgrade’s Republic Square, and the performance of the famous “Marš na Drinu” drew particular attention of a large number of citizens.
Binički choir soloists, Biljana Vasiljević Mitrović, Marijana Radosavljević, Dragan Milanović and Filip Vučić, performed for the audience, accompanied by the orchestra.
Victory over Fascism Day commemorates May 9, 1945, when the Second World War ended with Germany’s unconditional surrender.
