Minister Šutanovac meets U.S. Congress delegation
Defence Minister Dragan Šutanovac have met with the delegation of the United States Congress in Belgrade today. The U.S. Congress delegation was led by Congressmen William Delahunt, Dan Burton, Jeff Flake, Michael Turner and Steve Cohen. Both sides stated their satisfaction with the level of cooperation in the field of defence, which is the best part of the overall bilateral relations between the USA and Serbia. It was concluded that they should continue their cooperation on the highly successful programs, such as cooperation in military education and cooperation within the State Partnership Program.
At the meeting particular satisfaction has been expressed with the level of cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard.
Minister Šutanovac informed his interlocutors of the implemented reforms in the defence system, plans to complete the process of professionalization of the Serbian Armed Forces by the end of the year, as well as the ever increasing participation of the SAF members in peacekeeping missions. The congressmen pointed out that the USA supports the continuation of the defence reforms with the aim of achieving the best standards.
