Minister Sutanovac visitis the Serbian pavillion in Shangai



The MoD delegation led by the Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac visited the Serbian pavilion at the world exhibition EXPO in Shangai where it got acquainted about the ways Serbia is represented at this manifestation.

During the talks with the Serbian representatives at EXPO exhibition, Sutanovac got an opportunity to witness the great interest exhibited by Chinese tourists and visitors for the Serbian pavilion and with the plans for Serbia’s further presentation until the closing of the show.

Besides the Serbian pavilion, Sutanovac also toured the pavilions of China, Turkey and Russia and Libya.

The EXPO exhibition in Shangai gathered 200 countries where it is expected that some 70 million people will visit this exhibition during the six-month duration of the exhibition. In the words of the organizers, 400,000 people visit the exhibition during summer.

Serbia is presenting itself as an independent state at the Shangai EXPO, for the first time in 110 years since it first appeared in the Paris manifestation.

The programme is thematically divided in months while the pavilion visitors are being acquanited with the commercial and tourist potentials of Serbia, along with the Serbian movies, sports and ethno music.

In less than four months, some two million people saw the Serbian pavilion.

By visiting Shangai, Minister Sutanovac ends his visit to China during which he met with the Minister of Defense of China Liang Guanglee, the Chairman of the Congress of the Chinese Parliament Wu Banguo, having also visited the special forces academy of the PLA Armed Militiaa and the Shangai military district.
