Minister Sutanovac meets with the Chairman of the National People's Congress
“The very fact that the MoD delegation was now received by the Chairperson of the National Congress of China Mr. Wu and that on the previous occasion we were received by the Vice President of China Shi Ji Ping bespeaks of the great support of China to the Ministry of defense and Serbia in general”, as Sutanovac said during his meeting with the first man of the Chinese Parliament.
He stated that he expected this support to bring new promotion and advancement of general political and economic relations between Serbia and China.
“China today is a very important factor in the world and I am convinced that this visit will soon add to boosting the economic potentials of China which are currently being realized in Serbia. We also hope to raise the economic cooperation of the two countries to a higher level thus engaging Serbia and enabling the investors from China to participate in developing this cooperation”.
At the start of the meeting Minister Sutanovac expressed his sincere condolences to the Chinese nation for the victims of floods in China.
Furthermore, he thanked the spokesperson of the Chinese Parliament for china’s readiness to invest in Serbia, especially on building a bridge on the Danube in Belgrade.
Dragan Sutanovac is the first foreign defense minister to have met with the President of the National People's Congress Wu Banguuo.
Earlier today, Sutanovac visited and was given a guided tour of the Special Forces Academy of the Armed Militia of the Chinese Army.
The visit will continue in Shangai where he will visit Expo 2010 World Exhibition.
