Ceremony on occasion of the Day of Aviation
On occasion of 2 August, the Day of Aviation, a ceremonious gathering was held today at the Air Force Command attended by the Deputy Commander of the Air Force Brig. Gen. Sreto Malinovic, Chiefs of SAF GS Departments, Major Generals Dragan Kolundzija and Petar Cornakovc, active and retired members of the air force as well as numerous friends of the air force.Brig. Gen. Sreto Malinovic welcomed the guests reminding them, of the rich and glorious past of our air force and recalling the courage and patriotism of the air force members especially during WWII and 1999 aggression. He reminded the present that we should cherish the memory of them and the fact that they had sacrificed their lives in order to defend the country.
Thanking the state officials for their help and understanding, Gen. Malinovic stressed that the members of the aviation have managed to start a slow but successful recovery and improvement of a significant part of the Serbian aviation. Deputy Air Force Commander reminded that the Ministry of Defense and SAF GS had recognized the need to modernize our air force and had provided support for procuring multi-purpose fighter planes.Minister Dragan Sutanovac and SAF CHOD LTG Miloje Miletic sent their congratulations to the members of the air force where the commended the professionalism and capabilities of air force members stating that they were at the highest level.
The members of the aviation were awarded the highest ranking commendations in their profession, namely the titles of flight instructors, commendations and other awards.
