Cooperation in the field of defence with Austria
Head of International Military Cooperation Department, Mr Milorad Peric, met with the Head of the Directorate for Security Policy, Federal Ministry of Defence and Sports of the Republic of Austria, Major General Johann Pucher. Peric informed his interlocutor about the process of the defence reform, the activities of international cooperation in the field of defence and the situation in the region of the Western Balkans. He stressed the importance of sharing experiences with Austria as a neutral state, a member of the European Union and an advanced partner in the Partnership for Peace programme.
General Pucher evaluated the bilateral relations in the field of defence very good and stated that both sides are working to identify the possibilities for additional improvement. He conveyed the readiness of the Austrian side to help the European integration process in Serbia in the field of strengthening cooperation within the EU Common Security and Defence Policy.
