Minister Šutanovac receives Libyan delegation
Defence Minister Dragan Šutanovac received today the Libyan delegation headed by the Director of Armor and Infantry Department of the Libyan Armed Forces, Brigadier General Shaban Al-Mahdi Abu-Garad. At the meeting they noted the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries and two peoples, and very successful cooperation in the field of defence, which is the basis for cooperation in other fields.
The main topic of discussion was the improvement of bilateral military cooperation, especially in the field of military education, military economic and military medical cooperation. Apart from their interest in the education of their officers at the Military Academy and the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade, the Libyan side showed great interest in cooperation on the restoration of the military hospital in Libya and exchange of experts between the two countries as well as in the defence industry products.
The visit by the Libyan delegation is the result of the recent visit of Defence Minister Šutanovac to Tripoli, when the Agreement on Military Technical Cooperation between Serbia and Libya was signed. Then, among other things, the exchange visits of experts and delegations of the two ministries were agreed in order to specify some points of the agreement.
