At the height of preparations for wedding, no one was surprised in Stara Pazova family of the Stojanovics, that the groom, officer Nenad Stojanovic had decided to get married in the officer’s uniform in the Church of St. Ilija, wearing an officer’s saber.

Born in Stara Pazova, Nenad finished the Military Technical Academy, Logistics Department, in 2006. he was appointed as Head of the Finances Section in Novi Sad military section. His wife Nela was born in Zadar, Croatia, and moved to Belgrade in 1995. After finishing studies at the Faculty of Economics she found a job in a bank.

The tradition of Serbian officer influenced Nenad’s decision to war a uniform on his wedding day, but also he did this under the influence of Nela’s question whether he would be wearing a uniform.

His colleague officers were not indifferent towards his decision, so they also appeared at the wedding in uniforms, while the bride was driven in a specially ornamented military jeep.
