Minister Sutanovac and LTG Miletic visit Novi Pazar

Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac and the SAF CHOD LTG Miloje Miletic with his co workers visited the Second Army Brigade where they were received in “Rifat Burdzevic Trso” barracks by the commander of the barracks Lt. Col. Muharem Fazlic.

After visiting the units in this barracks in Novi Pazar, the minister of defense and SAF CHOD were received by the presidents of Novi Pazar and Sjenica municipalities, Meho Mahmutovic and Muriz Turkovic respectively, with whom they toured the newly-built section of the road in the Bele Vode village.

210th engineering battalion of the Kraljevo-based second army brigade Lt. Col. Ismet Ademovic is the main works bearer, and this is the result of civil-military cooperation.

Minister of Defence opened the road section in Bele Vode in the presence of the Mayors of Novi Pazar and Sjenica and the reps of the local self-government. Then both the minister and SAF chief visited the works on the section between Muhovo and Svilenovo on Pester Plain where the members of the 210th engineering battalion were deployed.

SAF pay special attention to underdeveloped parts of our country. So, in Sandzak we had an opportunity to see a number of roads being revitalized by the army and we want to help the local citizens in the upcoming period as well. The army has enabled the citizens of this region, as the minister observed, to get regular medical check-ups with SAF mobile medical teams examining the villagers of the Novi Pazar municipality especially in those areas which are hard to reach.

-A very important segment of our visit is to promote the full professionalization of our army and the military profession, as there are many good yet unemployed people here, where the Serbian army steps in as the biggest employed in Serbia. Therefore it is our wish to employ as many people as possible in the territory of Sanzak.

After a number of years, we finally have a multiethnic generation of cadets in the Military Academy this year, which means that we are slowly restoring the multiethnic character to the Serbian army. We are very grateful to the local self-government and the mayors of Novi Pazar and Sjenica for their support in our efforts, as Minister stated.

SAF CHOD LTG Miloje Miletic emphasized that this was a way for SAF members to demonstrate their readiness and preparedness to carry out the third SAF mission, namely that pertaining to the support to civilians, thus proving g to be one of the pillars of society. He stressed that every penny spent in the army has been accounted for.
