Academic Cosic presentes the medal awarded to him by Russia to the Military Museum

Member of the Serbian Academy of Science and our illustrious writer Dobrica Cosic presented the Military Museum with The Medal for 65 years of victory in the Great War for Motherland 1941-1945, awarded by the Special Order of the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, and presented by the Russian Ambassador Aleksandar Konuzin on 17 June 2010.

Upon presenting the medal to Colonel Miroslav Knezevic, the Head of the Museum, Dobrica Cosic said that he was lucky enough and honored to have survived the heroes and more prominent liberators in an anti fascist struggle, emphasizing that he presented this medal in the name of all those who fought, and suffered and perished in WWII.
“This is my farewell to the public life in Serbia, as I have ended my literary opus and my writings which have not all been published. Three books will be published after my departure, said Dobrica Cosic, stating that thus he had complied with his patriotic and civil duty within his knowledge, power and conscience.

The Director of the Museum Colonel Knezevic thanked academic Cosic for this gesture on behalf of the Military Museum and all those whose objects are kept in the Museum. This medal, as he said, would be exhibited as part of the standing exhibition in the Hall of Victory, as it symbolizes the victory of the Serbian and Yugoslav peoples over fascism. After the ceremony, academic Cosic toured the exhibition.
