Guard Orchestra in Pancevo
.Members of the SAF Guard Battalion gave a performance as special guests before the opening ceremony pf the second day of the Pancevo carnival.The Guard Orchestra which has just returned from the International Festival of Military Orchestras in Linz gave a concert where he performed traditional Serbian marches under the baton of maestro Dejan Djurov.
Following the concert, military professionals, NCOs and officers as well as conscripts carried out an exercise, an exercir where captains Dragan Jakovljevic and Mirko Mitric commanded the echelon.
The guard has just celebrated its 180th anniversary while this was another of many events marking this jubilee.
The opening ceremony of the second day of the Pancevo Carnival was attended by numerous SAF members.
The carnival tradition in Pancevo dates back to 19th century and in the last few years in the organization of the Association “Friends of Pancevo” this carnival has become the most important event in the city and the biggest carnival manifestation in Serbia.The carnival was attended by a large number of visitors, participants and ambassadors and high dignitaries from Serbia and abroad. This manifestation is a combination of various carnival traditions and cultures from the whole world with the main purpose being international cooperation and exchange.
