25th anniversary of death of Milica Rakić



State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović and Head of the Military Health Department Brig. Gen. Radivoje Anđelković attended today the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the death of Milica Rakić at the Batajnica Cemetery and the memorial park "Mala Milica Rakić" in Batajnica, where they laid flowers on the grave and next to the monument dedicated to the three-year-old girl who was killed in the NATO aggression.
  Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nikola Selaković, and representatives of various institutions and associations also laid flowers, and Milica Rakić’s family members and representatives of the City Municipality of Zemun laid wreaths near the monument.
Milica Rakić was killed on April 17, 1999, by a fragment of a missile that exploded during NATO aggression, in the Belgrade neighbourhood of Batajnica. Milica Rakić’s death became a symbol of the suffering of children during the 1999 war.
