Special Forces conduct tactical drills

Special troops of the Serbian Armed Forces participating in the Joint Live-Fire Tactical Exercise Whirlwind 2024 have started carrying out tactical exercises and drills at several locations outside their peacetime stations.
Combat teams of the Special-Purpose MP Detachment “Kobre”, supported by an AF and AD helicopter unit, are carrying out missions on the move and practicing the execution of special counterterrorism missions in a rural environment.

By carrying out complex tactical missions, the unit members are honing their skill in conducting terrain searches, encirclement and destruction of terrorist groups, active and passive defence against detected UAVs and remotely piloted aircraft, and aeromedical evacuation.

The 63rd Parachute Brigade units are practicing vertical manoeuvring and setting up new positions in preparation for the upcoming stages of the exercise, whereas the 72nd Special Operations Brigade teams are conducting combat training in a rural environment.
During this stage of the exercise, other participating SAF troops are carrying our activities in preparation for operational development in their areas of responsibility as planned, simultaneously performing various tactical missions on the move.

The training activities, which will get increasingly intensive and complex by the day, will continue on permanent and temporary training grounds of the Serbian Armed Forces until April 21. The aim of the two-week joint exercise is to improve the ability of commands and units to prepare and carry out combat operations, organize joint action, cooperation and force protection, control the territory and provide logistics support to troops in the area of operation.
