Minister visits Sloboda factory in Cacak

Minister Dragan Sutanovac visited the Cacak-based arms factory Sloboda, where he was acquainted with the dynamics of production. He commended the management and the factory workers for the fact that they have increased production by 85% in comparison to last year.

This factory can serve as an example of how Serbia can export defense industry products and its brains and knowledge, as he stated, stressing that Sloboda will soon receive a certificate testifying to its products’ quality according to NATO standards. This is one of the rare cases where the demand for the products of the factory surpass the production capacity. The whole range of Sloboda products is being exported which helps greatly reduce the foreign trade deficit of Serbia. Furthermore, it should be noted, as the minister said, that the whole production range has been sold in advance by march next year.

Only tow years ago, the factory was in a far worse situation than today, while today its production capacity is such that they need expansion in order to meet the demands of the market. He expressed his belief that the funds invested into production of the Cacak industry will soon be pay off
The Director of the factory Zoran Stefanovic expressed his hope that the factory would continue to improve its production with the help and support of MoD and the Serbian Government. He also thanked the workers for their efforts to make such results, and Stefanovic remarked that this was achieved by working weekends too since the start of the year in order to meet the deadlines set forth in the contracts.

The social program in the factory has rejuvenated the work force, as he said, announcing that the factory would soon take on many more young workers.
