Minister Vučević presents promotion and appointment decrees

Today, Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević presented decrees signed by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, to the officers of the Serbian Armed Forces, promoting them and appointing them to new duties. The ceremony was held in the Old General Staff’s Great War Hall and was attended by the Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, and members of the boards of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff.
Brigadier generals Brane Krnjajić and Zoran Nasković, the latter of whom has been appointed Commander of the Training Command, have been promoted to major generals. Colonels Milan Elenkov and Novica Gogić have been promoted to brigadier generals. Brigadier General Jovica Matić has been appointed Commander of the First Army Brigade, Colonel Željko Furundžić has been appointed Commander of the Guard, and Colonel Nebojša Cvetković has been appointed Deputy Commander of the Training Command. Colonel Vladan Milosavljević has been appointed Commander of the Third Army Brigade and Colonel Siniša Nikolić has been appointed Commander of the Fourth Army Brigade.

Addressing the newly-promoted and appointed officers, Minister Vučević said that this was the result of their work and personal qualities.
  - This is not something that is done by default or every day. This is the fruit of your calling, your decision to protect Serbia, to be part of the Serbian Armed Forces, your dedication and sacrifice, professional development and work. This is also the result of the support of the Serbian Armed Forces’ leadership and the leaderships of the Republic of Serbia, the Armed Forces and the General Staff, which recognized your professional qualities, and the outcome of the decision of our state to promote and appoint to new duties those who deserve it - said the minister of defence.

He told the officers to be aware of their responsibility, adding that the promotions and appointments bring greater obligations and responsibilities, not privileges.
  - As of today, you have an even greater responsibility and your burden is even heavier. If you are guided by that fact, you will be successful and you will show that you are worthy of the tasks awaiting you, and I am certain that you have already demonstrated through your work that you deserve this. I wish you all the best, I wish you a lot of success in your future endeavours. Protect the Serbian Armed Forces and, most importantly, protect our homeland, Serbia. Long live the Serbian Armed Forces. Long live Serbia - Minister Vučević concluded.
