Minister in Cacak
Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac visited the Technical Overhaul Institute in Cacak where he could acquaint himself with the capacities of this institution dealing with the repair of the military equipment and weapons. Accompanied by the Army Commander LTG Ljubisa Dikovic and the director of the Institute Stojko Biocanin, Minister Sutanovac toured the facilities of the TZR Cacak.
On this occasion he said that this institution obviously had capacitates to perform overhaul for our and other armies. The minister said that the capacities of the institute were more than 100 % used, and that in the future the company would be engaging young engineers.
The Serbian defense minister stressed that the Overhaul Institute along with the Sloboda weapons factory was an important factor of the economic growth of Cacak and the whole region as well as of the defense industry of Serbia. Minister reminded that Serbia was the biggest weapons exporter in the region and that all countries wished to cooperate with it.During the day, the minister of defense Dragan Sutanovac also met with the management of the Sloboda Cacak factory.
In his comment of his visit to Croatia, Sutanovac stated that he had had discussions regarding the cooperation in the area of defense industry. At this moment he could not specify the details of the future cooperation, and that he would send a MoD delegation to Croatia soon in order to review the capacities and to agree on the forms of cooperation.
