Military Grammar School students graduate

The 34th class of the Military Grammar School students graduated on Saturday. The graduation ceremony was attended by MA Head Brig. Gen. Mladen Vuruna, archbishop of Hvost Atanasije Rakita, the Schol management as well as the parents and family members of the students. The top three students: Pavle Dugalic, Aleksandar Borovcanin and Stefan Vlajkovic, all straight-A students received the annual award of the “Borko Nikitovic” fund.

Brig. Gen. Vuruna said that these young men were well-behaved and well-educated children four years ago, but today they were the pride of their teachers and parents. He expressed his belief that they would certainly make excellent officers, and that some of them would most certainly become top managers within MoD. They will soon exchange their nice civil suits for nice uniforms, and will change the motto “ knowledge is the best weapon” for “ honor”.

The Head of the School Colonel Milan Stevic congratulate the parents stressing that their contribution was immeasurable. Stevic reminded the present of all the beauties and difficulties of this rather complex educational process, stating that today “ he was peaking to mature young men who are a model for their generation”.

The father of Borko Nikitovic, a tragically killed Second Lieutenant and the representative of the fund bearing his name, Ljubomir Nikitovic, told the future cadets and officers that they had opted for an honorable profession and that they should preserve the peace and freedom which the previous generations had fought for. Furthermore, as he stated they should also start their own families as only this is the only thing that would make them complete as persons.
The to student of the class Pavle Dugalic thanked his commanders and teachers reminding them that their class was taught to respect the tradition of the Serbian people and those people who laid their lives for freedom. Pavle remarked that even though his class matured rapidly, thus being robbed of one part of careless youth, it was well worth the trouble. In his closing statement he stated that his generation was ready to give a pledge of allegiance and to join the ranks of the army.
