Pupils attend lectures on risks of using pyrotechnics

As part of the CIMIC project - Military Pyrotechnician in Elementary School, members of the Serbian Armed Forces, in cooperation with representatives of the Red Cross, have held lectures on the risks of using pyrotechnics.

The project is implemented in preparation for the New Year’s Eve and Christmas celebrations, when the use of pyrotechnics is very frequent, and this time lectures were held in elementary schools on the territory of Gornji Milanovac, Kuršumlija, and Prokuplje, as well as in the Belgrade municipalities - Vračar, Rakovica, Sopot, Stari Grad and Čukarica.
The lectures were delivered by ordnance officers, who told the pupils about the dangers of firecrackers, fireworks, torches and other explosive devices, as well as the standard procedure to be followed if we come across a UXO. Representatives of the Red Cross explained and showed the pupils how to give first aid to the injured.

The goal of the project, which is organized every year, is to raise awareness among elementary school students about the dangers of using pyrotechnics and thus improve children safety.

In addition to this project, the Serbian Armed Forces carry out a number of CIMIC activities, aiming to strengthen mutual confidence and improve the safety and quality of life of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
