Training with new radars in Air Force, Air Defence

Professional members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade are currently undergoing training with the GM-400 long-range surveillance radar, which has recently entered into service at the Serbian Armed Forces.
This is a modern radar system produced by the French manufacturer Thales, which, thanks to its advanced software, provides excellent picture of the situation in the airspace, requires minimum maintenance and is characterized by high operational availability. The model procured by the Republic of Serbia is considered the best long-range radar in the world, and our country is the first foreign buyer of this improved version.

The radar has the ability to detect and track a wide range of targets at short and long distances simultaneously, from planes and helicopters flying at different altitudes, to low-flying objects with low radar reflection, such as tactical UAVs or cruise missiles.
The training is being conducted at the radar site and includes theory lessons on the principles of radar technology and practical work with the system. It aims to train platoon commanders and squad leaders, radar technicians and other specialists in the use and basic maintenance of the radars.

The introduction of modern radars from the GM-400 (Ground Master) family into operational use in the ASEWG units has significantly improved the ability of the Serbian Armed Forces to fulfil the tasks of controlling and protecting the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
