Force Protection Platoon ready for deployment to peacekeeping operation

A force protection platoon has conducted a tactical exercise at the Borovac training ground and in Base South, where its readiness for deployment to the United Nations Peacekeeping Operation in Lebanon (UNFICYP) was evaluated.
This unit drawn from the Training Command will be engaged in Lebanon as part of the Italian contingent, and it will be responsible for securing the base where the United Nations peacekeeping troops are stationed.

During the exercise, the unit members performed tactical missions they might face in the area of operations, and their skills and interoperability were evaluated by the SAF General Staff’s team of evaluators.

The results indicate that the force protection platoon meets the required standards and is fully trained, adequately equipped and ready for deployment to the United Nations Peacekeeping Operation in Lebanon.
The Serbian Armed Forces have been contributing a force protection platoon to this operation since 2014. Our contribution also comprises an infantry company, staff officers and a team of specialists responsible for providing support to our contingent.
