Soldiers train for reconnaissance and military police duties

Soldiers, whose voluntary military service started in September 2023, are undergoing specialized reconnaissance and military police training at the “General Pavle Jurišić Šturm” barracks in Požarevac.
These soldiers’ individual training is a month longer than that of the majority of soldiers performing voluntary military service due to the specificity and complexity of scouts’ and military police officers’ tasks in the Serbian Armed Forces.

During their training, the scouts focus on practicing the procedures followed by reconnaissance patrols during the battlefield observation and intelligence data collection, map reading and movement on unknown terrain, firing practices with infantry weapons and conducting exercises with explosive ordnance.

In parallel, military police officers are being taught to exercise police powers when stopping and inspecting individuals, combating crime, maintaining order and discipline in the military, conducting road traffic control and protecting individuals, important military facilities and weapons.
The goal is to make sure that the soldiers of both military occupational specialties, upon completion of their specialized training, are ready to apply the acquired knowledge and skills and to use weapons and equipment that are in service in relevant SAF units.

The soldiers are highly motivated to successfully complete the entire training content, and as expected, upon completion of their military service, many of them will become part of the professional staff of the Serbian Armed Forces serving in reconnaissance and military police units, for which they can apply now.
