Winter training with modern missile systems



Collective training for the crews of the digitized 128mm M-17 Oganj self-propelled multiple rocket launcher systems is underway on the training grounds and exercise areas in Sremska Mitrovica and the surrounding area.
  This regular cold-weather training in the combat use of this modern system is conducted at the 1st Army Brigade missile battalion with the aim of maintaining the degree of the unit’s combat readiness.
 
Following the successful completion of individual training, professional members - comprising soldiers/operators, squad leaders and platoon and battery commanders go through collective training in order to improve the ability of Oganj battery to provide artillery-missile support to the Army evolution units on combat operations.
  At this time, the focus is on tactical training and practicing firing procedures, from marching, to scouting and gun emplacement in accordance with the rules of engagement, calculation and adjustment of fire, to the execution of tasks at the missile position following the firing.
 
The digitized 128mm M-17 Oganj self-propelled MLRS is a modern artillery system intended for delivering sudden and concentrated artillery fire against large targets, and its introduction into the armament of the Serbian Armed Forces has significantly improved the ability of units to provide reliable, prompt and accurate fire support on combat operations.
