Serbian Armed Forces equipped with second CASA C-295 transport aircraft



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević attended the receipt of the second CASA C-295 transport aircraft purchased for the Serbian Armed Forces, at the military airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica today.
The Minister of Defence once again pointed out the enormous contribution and importance of the procurement of these transport aircraft whose capabilities and features contribute to the enhancement of capabilities of our air force and the Serbian Armed Forces as a whole.
In a conversation with Minister Vučević, the pilots and aircraft technicians shared their impressions of working with the first CASA C-295 aircraft, which was put in service in the Serbian Armed Forces in mid-October this year. They expressed their satisfaction at the receipt of the second aircraft of this type, which has completed the unit's capabilities. Members of the 204th Air Brigade, who have completed training in Seville for this type of aircraft, confirmed that it was a reliable aircraft.
  A contract for the procurement of the two CASA C-295 transport aircraft, which are used for the transport of people and cargo, was concluded with the Spanish company Airbus Defense and Space, in February 2022.
Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence Brigadier General Brane Krnjajić, chief secretaries to the cabinets of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović and the Commander of the 204th Air Brigade, Colonel Milan Elenkov, were also in attendance at the military airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” today.
