Military service commences for new class of soldiers

The Training Command Centres in Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac received today the soldiers of the September 2023 intake. Over the next six months, they will be trained for military occupational specialties within the branches and services of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Upon their arrival at the barracks, the soldiers underwent mandatory examinations, were issued weapons and equipment and were then assigned to units, where the commanders informed them of their rights, obligations and tasks during their military service.

Over the next month and a half, they will be taught at the Basic Training Centres to handle personal weapons, carry out basic tactical actions and procedures in battle, perform guard duties and improve their physical ability.

The next step is individual specialized training for branch/service-specific military duties following which the soldiers will be sent to SAF units where they will spend the remainder of their military service doing collective task training.
Soldiers can apply for professional military career while still performing their military service. They will then go through standard procedure and satisfy the requirements for joining the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
