Restoration of Kosanica river bed in Kuršumlija municipality

This week, members of the 3rd Army Brigade in coordination with the local self-government, are carrying out a civil-military project to improve the Kosanica riverbed in the municipality of Kuršumilja.
The activity, which is being done as part of engineer training for professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces, aims to  increase the flow capacity of the river bed and thus prevent potential water spillage and flooding of the surrounding area.

Earlier this month, members of the Serbian Armed Forces carried out a similar project on another river in the municipality of Kuršumlija, Toplica, from which they removed thick vegetation, soil deposits and other material deposited on the riverbed.

Engaging in projects like this is an opportunity for members of the Serbian Armed Forces’ engineer units to test their capabilities in real life and further improve their skills in operating modern engineer machines used for road reconstruction, overcoming obstacles, blocking, and masking.
The Serbian Armed Forces implement CIMIC projects in all parts of the country, with the aim of building confidence and understanding between the military and local communities and creating conditions for a better life and protection of material goods, thus showing that they are always at the service of the citizens, not only by defending the country, but also by providing assistance to the people in need.
