Collective pre-deployment training for peacekeeping mission in Lebanon

A force protection platoon is undergoing the final segment of collective training at the Borovac training ground and at the South Base prior to their deployment to the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The training is part of preparations that this unit of the Training Command has been doing for months in order to fully prepare for carrying out their tasks and successfully participate in the mission.

During this part of the preparation, the platoon is training in conditions similar to those in the mission, and their tactical tasks and scenarios are fully adapted to the situations the unit may face while carrying out its tasks in the area of operation.

The training program includes tactical and physical training, international humanitarian law, with an emphasis on the execution of tasks when securing the base. The training ends with a tactical exercise which will evaluate the degree of training and interoperability of the unit prior to its deployment to the mission.
The Serbian Armed Forces have deployed a force protection platoon to UNIFIL’s Sector West of since 2014 as part of the Italian contingent. The unit's main task is to secure the base where the United Nations forces are stationed. In addition to this platoon, the Serbian Armed Forces also deploy an infantry company, staff officers, and a national support element located in Sector East.
