Minister Vučević attends firing demonstration showcasing Miloš multi-purpose armoured combat vehicle



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević attended today a firing demonstration showcasing Miloš 4x4 multi-purpose armoured combat vehicle at the Weapons and Military Equipment Testing Centre’s range in Nikinci.
The demonstration was attended by representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of Defence, who are paying a visit to Serbia led by National Armaments Director, László Tömböl, as part of planned activities aiming to strengthen bilateral military-technical cooperation.   

Having witnessed the precision and firepower demonstrated by Miloš multi-purpose armoured combat vehicle and the proficiency of the crew, Minister Vučević said that Serbia looks after its defence industry and that the Serbian Armed Forces are largely supplied from their own resources. According to him, it is particularly important that we produce a certain quantity of key combat systems, such as Miloš, and that we continue investing in the domestic defence industry and keep on equipping the Serbian Armed Forces units with the most modern combat equipment in order to increase their combat readiness.
  The event featured firing with 12.7 mm remotely controlled combat station mounted on Miloš 4x4 multi-purpose vehicle at a distance of 500-1200 m, as well as firing with 20/3 mm KERBER remotely controlled combat station mounted on the latest Miloš 4x4 multi-purpose vehicle which can seat 10 personnel, at a distance of 1200m.

The crew also demonstrated firing with Miloš 4x4 multi-purpose vehicle at close distances, simulating ambush battle and demonstrating Miloš’s ability to overcome obstacles in accord with modern standards.
  During the display, 155mm B-52 M-21 Nora self-propelled howitzer fired at distances greater than 20 km, with the help of a domestically produced fire control system.
 
The event was attended by Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, PhD, Head of the Development and Equipping Directorate of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Brigadier General Milan Popović, and heads of private offices of the Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister - Žarko Mićin and Brigadier General Goran Momčilović.
