Signing Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan with Turkey



Bilateral consultations between the delegation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey and the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces were held in Belgrade.

It was mutually stated that cooperation in the field of defence has shown an upward trend and that this trend should continue in the mutual interest. The importance of involvement of the Turkish side in the project of La?evci airfield conversion was specially pointed out as well as further improvement of military-technical and military-economic cooperation.

Head of International Military Cooperation Department, Mr. Milorad Peric and Chief of International Military Cooperation and Security Department of the Turkish General Staff, Major General Mehmet Cetin signed a bilateral military cooperation plan for 2010.

This year, the co-operation will take place mainly through the exchange of high level visits, joint training for participation in peacekeeping operations and exercises of special units, education, and continuing of joint projects initiated in the past period.
