MP section rotation in UNFICYP

Members of the Serbian MP section, who have completed their six months’ service with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, have returned to the Republic of Serbia after handing over to a new SAF contingent.
During their engagement, they successfully carried out all their assignments under the mission mandate, thus representing the Serbian Armed Forces in the best possible way, and demonstrated a high degree of training and professionalism.

The SAF MP section on this operation works as part of the British contingent and performs a wide spectrum of assignments, such as conducting UN-ordered enquiries and providing military escort for VIPs, and works with the local police forces to complete MP assignments.
In addition to the MP section, the Serbian Armed Forces’ presence in UNFICYP includes staff officers serving with the Mission Command in Nicosia, and previously, from 2011 to 2018, the SAF contributed an infantry platoon-sized unit to this mission.
