Advanced First Aid Course

An advanced first aid course has been held at the Logistics Training Centre for officers, non-commissioned officers and civilians serving with the Serbian Armed Forces whose regular duties do not include providing emergency medical care.
This four-week course is designed to improve personnel’ existing knowledge and offer them an opportunity to acquire new skills needed for administering first aid and providing care to the injured at the scene of the accident, using modern medical equipment.

The trainees have received theoretical and practical training in the application of procedures such as the initial assessment, triage, evacuation of casualties to a safe area, examining the patient against a checklist, administering first aid and conducting air evacuation.
During this level 3 first aid course, the trainees have acquired necessary skills for the effective use of standard and improvised first aid equipment when providing emergency medical care to casualties in different situations. They have also learnt the techniques and procedures for preventing further deterioration in the patient’s condition.
