50 military athletes participated in the 23rd Belgrade Marathon



In the 23rd TIME FORCE Belgrade Marathon, with participation of over a thousand athletes and fans of running from 32 countries, 50 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces participated as well – officers, non-commissioned officers, professional soldiers and cadets of the Military Academy, and among them five women.

In marathon, Lieutenant Peter Krajnovi? from Kragujevac took part, while the others ran half-marathon track. Best performance in the half-marathon was achieved by professional soldier Mirko Stankovi? from the Jakovo Training Centre, who arrived to the goal as the sixteenth in one hour 20 minutes and 20 seconds. The second was Lieutenant Dragan Dokmanovi? from Požarevac, and the third was Lieutenant Sr?an ?uri? from Požarevac.

In the women's half-marathon competition the best performance was achieved by cadets Nevena Jovanovi?, Marija Markovi?, and Sla?ana ?or?evi?.

The winner of this year's Belgrade TIME FORCE Marathon is a Kenyan marathon runner Kibet Johnstone Maiyo, who ran today the most difficult athletic discipline in two hours, 16 minutes and 23 seconds. The second place was won by his compatriot Kipkorir Sammy Kibet, and the third, also a Kenyan, Lomol Paul Lopio.

In the half-marathon this year the fastest one was Olivera Jevti?, as she ran the 21.1 kilometre long track in one hour, 13 minutes and 13 seconds. The second place was won by a representative from Montenegro Perunovi? Sla?ana, and the third was a Serbian athlete Daniel Barac.
