Beginning of second Basic Strategic Defence Planning Course



The second two-week Basic Strategic Defence Planning Course, organized by the Strategic Planning Department, Defence Policy Sector, started today. The course was officially opened by the Head of the Strategic Planning Department, Colonel Slaven Vujić.
The course is an opportunity for members of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Material Resources Sector, and the Training Command, who attend it, to gain information and knowledge needed for participation in the strategic defence planning process, which includes the preparation of basic strategic and development planning documents. The focus is on the assessment of strategic environment, challenges, risks and threats, formulating the required capabilities and determining the difference between the required and existing capabilities of the defence system, determining needs and measures by capability factors, as well as describing, evaluating and ranking options for the development of the defence system.
  The course is being held for the second time at the Strategic Planning Department, with lecturers from the Strategic Planning Department, the Military Academy and the “Field Marshal Radomir Putnik” National Defence School.
