River unit soldiers undergo training
Soldiers serving in river units, whose military service started in December 2022, are currently undergoing specialized training on River Flotilla ships.
Soldier, who were assigned to this unit after successfully completing individual training at the Training Command centres, are now training as boatmen and ship gunners on river multi-purpose and amphibious ships.During this training phase, which is being carried out at the anchorage, the soldiers are learning how to properly use deck devices and unit’s means ensuring ship resistance in combat, performing deck work and handling and maintaining the ship's weapons. This is followed by training in navigation and fire practice using the ship's weapons, which completes the training for the execution of collective tasks in operations on the waterways.
Soldiers serving in river units spend three quarters of their military service on ships, in order to adapt to specific conditions on board a ship and master complex training content. They are extremely motivated and a large number of them have already expressed the desire to join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces at the end of their military service in the River Flotilla.
