Minister Vučević visits Serbian Armed Forces Guard



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević visited the Serbian Armed Forces Guard in the "Dedinje" barracks today.
  He was accompanied by Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Petar Cvetković. Guard Commander, Brigadier General Nikola Dejanović, briefed the Minister of Defence on the unit’s purpose, tasks and traditions.

During today's visit, Minister Vučević talked to Guard members about the tasks they perform and about the life and work in this elite SAF unit. On that occasion, he gained a first-hand insight into their motivation and ability to execute all assigned tasks, such as securing vital military facilities and providing military honours for high-level foreign and domestic military officials.
  During the visit, the Minister of Defence was shown the 25th Military Police Battalion’s fleet of combat vehicles, cars and motorcycles, the Guard's Representative Orchestra, whereas members of the Guard Battalion demonstrated the practice of firing gun salutes. Also, the Guard members briefed the Minister of Defence on their barracks’ infrastructure.
  At the end of today's visit, Minister Vučević visited the Guard’s Memorial Room, where he signed the memorial guest book, stressing that he was impressed with the history of this elite unit of the Serbian Armed Forces.
