Students of the Military Grammar School and the "1,300 Corporals" Vocational Military High School held a ceremony to celebrate the feast of St. Sava, the patron saint of schools, at the Military Academy today. State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Mile Jelić, Assistant Minister for Human Resources Siniša Radović, Acting Rector of the Defence University, Colonel Boban Đorović, PhD, Commandant of the Military Academy, Colonel Srđan Blagojević, PhD, Head of the National Defence School, Colonel Mićo Suvajac and numerous guests attended the ritual of blessing the Slava wheat and cutting the Slava bread performed by Bishop Dositej of Lipjan.
Head of the Military Grammar School, Captain Miroslav Ćitić, said that Saint Sava had laid a spiritual foundation for Serbian education.

- Saint Sava was a unique personality in the Serbian history, meritorious in many ways. His life and work are studied by scientists in various fields, and artists and creators are inspired by him. For centuries, the smartest, most powerful and most influential people have dropped down on their knees before Saint Sava, praying to him and asking him for help. That is why “Svetosavlje” is our universal value that helps us preserve our identity - said Captain Ćitić.
He said that Saint Sava remained a symbol of the Serbian nation and enriched the soul of our people with virtues.

- Dear cadets and students, use your knowledge and exemplary behaviour to create new paths for future generations, just as we created paths for you. That is why we follow the path of “Svetosavlje”. We are walking along the paths of Saint Sava, because as the song says, "history begins with him, he turned schools into shrines" - said Captain Ćitić.
After the religious ritual of cutting the Slava bread, the students of the Military Grammar School and the Vocational Military High School performed an appropriate cultural and artistic program.
