Minister Vučević: Members of the Serbian Armed Forces have submitted a request to KFOR for the return of up to 1000 SAF and MOI members

While paying a visit to the River Flotilla in Novi Sad today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević said that members of the Serbian Armed Forces had submitted a written request to KFOR for the return of up to 1,000 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Police to the territory of the Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
  - A little while ago, I informed the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander and the Prime Minister that the Serbian Armed Forces, i.e. the General Staff’s Committee on the Implementation of the Kumanovo Military-Technical Agreement, had submitted the decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in written, printed form, i.e. the request of our country for the return of up to 1,000 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, i.e. the Serbian Police. The request was submitted at the administrative boundary near Merdare this morning, before 11 a.m. Last night, that is, around 1 a.m. this morning, the Serbian Armed Forces sent an email to the KFOR office with the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the request and additional documentation attached. By doing so, we have formally, legally and technically initiated the procedure in accordance with Resolution 1244 and the Kumanovo Military-Technical Agreement, demanding to use what is defined by international legal acts, public international law, something that no one can deny Serbia in its efforts to protect its national interests and our people on the territory of the Province of Kosovo and Metohija - said Minister Vučević.
