Minister Vučević: AF and AD keeps close guard over Serbian skies



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, accompanied by Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, visited the Air Force and Air Defence Command today. Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, briefed Minsiter Vučević about the organization, structure, disposition of troops and tasks of this arm of service.  
After the meeting with the most senior Air Force and Air Defence officers, Minister Vučević said that the citizens of Serbia should know that the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence was the guarantor of security, keeping close guard over our country’s skies.
- They monitor the situation in the Serbian sky 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, protecting our airspace and striving to be a fully operative and efficient part of the Serbian Armed Forces, the defence system of the Republic of Serbia. We discussed all the tasks awaiting us, the continuation of arming and procurement of modern devices, military equipment, modernization, ways to popularize the Serbian Armed Forces, to get new pilots and aircraft mechanics, to increase the number of professional soldiers, officers and NCOs and to invest even more in infrastructure – said Minister Vučević.

According to the Minister of Defence, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are part of a strong defence mechanism of our country.
- I am proud of all the people I have met with today, all the officers, NCOs, Air Force and Air Defence Commander, General Žarković, and of course, Chief of the General Staff, General Mojsilović. Together, as a team, we will do our best to make the Serbian Armed Forces, or more precisely, the Air Force and Air Defence, capable of fulfilling every order, every task given by the Supreme Commander, the President of the Republic, and capable of guaranteeing security to all citizens of Serbia – said Minister Vučević.
