Regular Rotation of Serbian Armed Forces Unit in Lebanon Mission

Members of Force Protection Platoon from the Training Command have arrived in the Republic of Serbia following successful participation in United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.
In previous seven months, they were engaged as part of Italian contingent on the tasks of providing security in the sector “West”, and they have been replaced by members of the Serbian Armed Forces, also from the Training Command, who travelled to the area of operation in the middle of the previous month.

In complex security circumstances, members of the force protection platoon have performed their duties professionally and responsibly in line with the mission mandate thus justifying in the best possible manner the reputation of Serbian soldier and Serbian Armed Forces in international environment.
The Serbian Armed Forces have been participating in United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon since 2010. Apart from the force protection platoon, the Serbian Armed Forces have deployed to this mission staff officers, members of the national support element and an infantry unit, which performs its tasks as part of Spanish battalion in the multinational brigade in the sector “East”.
