Serbian military athletes in the First Winter Military World Games
Sixteen members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces – officers, NCOs, cadets, active and reserve soldiers, will participate in the alpine programme (slalom and giant slalom) and Nordic disciplines (ski-orienteering, cross-country and biathlon) in the women's and men's competitions. They compete with the members of the armed forces from fifty countries, fifty-six of which won medals at the recently concluded Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
After a group sport greeting, the State Secretary Jeftic stressed the importance of presence of the Serbian military athletes in the first Winter Military World Games in history.
- Thanking the donors for their assistance and support, Jeftic pointed out also that it was for the first time that the Military Medical Academy was involved in preparations and actively monitored the condition of our best alpine athletes.
