Engineer Corps’ training on Sava River

The Basic NCO Course participants (20th Class) and soldiers performing their military service in Engineer Corps have done stationary camp at a temporary training ground on the Sava River in Šabac.
During their specialized training which lasted for two weeks, they conducted drills learning how to overcome water obstacles, handle pontoon bridges and use mines and explosive ordnance.

In the daytime and nighttime, future NCOs and soldiers executed a number of tactical missions on the river, from scouting communications, navigating the river using standard and improvised vessels, to a mock demolition of facilities in the vicinity of waterways.
Stationary camp is another segment of specialized training delivered not only to soldiers performing their military service, but also to professional soldiers training to become SAF NCOs. After the evaluation of soldiers’ skills upon the completion of specialized training, they will embark on collective training in SAF engineer units until the end of their military service. On the other hand, future NCOs will do their internship, acquiring methods and expert skills needed for delivering the training and performing their initial NCO roles.
