Soldier training in tank units
Soldiers who have been performing their military service as of March this year are undergoing intensive training in the 1st Army Brigade Tank Battalion in Sremska Mitrovica. Alongside them, professional soldiers are receiving additional training.
Professional soldiers who have recently been assigned to the unit and soldiers who are doing their military service are undergoing this M-84 tank crews’ routine training, which aims to prepare them for carrying out collective assignments. During the training, soldiers learn about the specific features of the tank, usage and maintenance of the weapons, subsystems and devices, and go through practical training using this combat vehicle. Having successfully completed their theoretical lessons and training with tank simulators, soldiers are currently on the training grounds, practicing tactical and fire actions needed for efficient combat use of the tank in operations.
Soldier training is conducted in all SAF units throughout the year. Through additional training, professional soldiers acquire skills needed for more responsible branch/service-specific roles, which is a way to improve the units’ overall capability for performing specific tasks.
